Two more goals!
Ronaldo secured an amazing 40-goal season with two strikes in the opening 24 minutes. The winger drilled home from twelve yards after just three minutes and then completed his brace mid-way through the first-half as he bundled home a deflected Owen Hargreaves cross.
Ronaldo's scrappy second was certainly not the highlight of his magnificent season - but it secured his 40-goal haul. It also marked his 30th league goal of the campaign - putting him an amazing six strikes ahead of nearest 'golden boot' challenger Emmanuel Adebayor.
Tevez continued United's rampant start by netting the third just two minutes later. The striker burst through the middle of the park and fired a stunning, curling strike beyond the reach of the outstretched Robert Green. Almost a year ago, Tevez spoiled United's title celebration party with a winning goal for West Ham but be certainly made amends with this strike!
The visitors, however, battled their way back into the game. England's powerhouse forward Dean Ashton slashed the deficit to two-goals with a superb overhead-kick. A comeback looked more likely on 38 minutes as Nani foolishly got sent-off for a needless head-butt on Lucas Neill - suddenly the Reds had been pegged back and had handed the Hammers the numerical advantage.
However, United showed no nerves after the interval and continued to dominate proceedings. They poured forward in numbers seeking the killer goal and it arrived on 58 minutes as Carrick spanked a long-range effort home thanks to a heavy deflection.
United took their feet off the peddle in the closing stages as United knocked the ball around with ease. Old Trafford was in a party mood and Sir Alex Ferguson delivered a passionate address to the masses after the full-time whistle with his side just two wins from a glorious double. Kevin Keegan could do his old friend a huge favour on Bank Holiday Monday with a Newcastle win effectively ending the title race.
